A quick search led me to AIM Ad Hack, which can download AIM Triton without the new AOL download manager, remove all the ads from Triton, and also get rid of the AOL browser, which all hyperlinks are required to open in. It basically removes all the junk that AOL tries to include with Triton. Definitely worth a try...
